Rio de Janeiro!!!

Olá pessoal!

Finalmente chegamos na cidade maravilhosa, o Rio de Janeiro! Saímos de Vitória na quinta feira de manhã e chegamos ao Rio à tarde. Logo na entrada da cidade os intercambistas já se emocionaram ao ver o Cristo Redentor, mesmo que de longe. Todos estavam muito ansiosos para conhecer o Rio de Janeiro.

Nosso hotel fica em Copacabana, então logo depois que chegamos, a maioria dos intercambistas foi conhecer a famosa praia de Copacabana. À noite,tivemos um delicioso jantar e depois fomos descansar para o dia seguinte, que começaria cedo.

Ontem, nós acordamos cedo e fomos logo visitar o ponto turístico mais famoso da cidade, e o mais esperado pelos intercambistas: o Cristo Redentor!! O dia estava maravilhoso, e todos ficaram encantados com a vista do ponto mais alto da cidade!
Depois nós fomos conhecer o Sambódromo, o local onde acontece o famoso Carnaval do Rio de Janeiro. Lá eles aproveitaram para tirar fotos com as fantasias, viram alguns vídeos do desfile do ano passado e aprenderam mais sobre essa que é uma das maiores festas do mundo!

De lá nós paramos num shopping para almoçar e depois seguimos para o Pão de Açúcar, outro ponto turístico super famoso do Rio de Janeiro!! A vista de lá também é maravilhosa, e todos aproveitaram para tirar muitas fotos!

Hoje nós fomos para a praia de Copacabana, onde os estudantes tiveram tempo livre para curtir a praia e passear um pouco pelo bairro.

Amanhã, a maioria dos intercambistas quiseram fazer um tour opcional pela Favela da Rocinha. Eles terão a oportunidade de conhecer e aprender mais sobre a maior favela da América Latina!! À tarde, nós visitaremos o Jardim Botânico do Rio de Janeiro e à noite, teremos o nosso jantar de despedida!!

Infelizmente a nossa viagem está acabando, mas amanhã eu ainda volto para contar como foi o nosso último dia!!

Hello!!

We finally reached Rio de Janeiro, also known as the wonderful city! We left Victoria on Thursday morning and arrived in Rio in the afternoon. At the entrance of the city the exchange students were moved to see the huge Christ Statue, even from far. Everyone was very eager to arrive in Rio de Janeiro.

Our hotel is located in Copacabana, so soon after we arrived, most of the exchange students went to the famous Copacabana beach to take some pictures. At night we had a delicious dinner and then went have some rest, since the next day would start early.

Yesterday we woke up early and went immediately to visit the most famous tourist sight of the city, and so expected by the exchange students: the Christ Statue at the Corcovado hill! The day was wonderful, and they were all delighted with the view from the highest point in town!

Then we went to the Sambódromo, the place where the famous Carnival of Rio de Janeiro happens. The exchange students had the opportunity to take pictures with the costumes, saw some videos of last year’s parade and learned more about Carnival, which is one of the largest festivals in the world!

From there we stopped at a mall for lunch and then headed to the Sugar Loaf, another super famous landmark of Rio de Janeiro! The view from there is also wonderful, and everyone took lots of pictures!

Today we went to Copacabana beach, where the students had free time to enjoy the beach and walk around the neighborhood.

Tomorrow, most exchange students will go on an optional tour of the Favela da Rocinha. They will have the opportunity to see and learn about the biggest slum in Latin America! In the afternoon we will visit the Botanical Garden of Rio de Janeiro and at night we will have our farewell dinner!

Unfortunately our trip is ending, but I will still come back tomorrow to tell how it was our last day!

Porto Seguro

Olá pessoal!

Nós saímos hoje de Porto Seguro, a última cidade do Nordeste da nossa viagem. Todos adoraram a estada em Porto Seguro e aproveitaram cada minuto na cidade.
Ontem de manha, nós fomos aproveitar a praia que tem pertinho do nosso hotel. Depois da praia, os intercambistas ainda aproveitaram a piscina do hotel.

À tarde, nos fizemos um city tour histórico por Porto Seguro. Começamos por Coroa Vermelha, onde visitamos o local onde foi rezada a 1a missa no Brasil, assim que os portugueses chegaram aqui. Ali também o pessoal pode passear pela feira de artesanato e fazer algumas compras.

Depois, nos fomos para o centro histórico de Porto Seguro, onde vimos uma apresentação de capoeira, vimos alguns trabalhos de artesanato feitos pelos índios Pataxós, vimos a pedra do marco do descobrimento e tiramos fotos lindas!

No final da tarde nos voltamos para o hotel para que todos pudessem se arrumar para a nossa programação noturna. Depois do jantar, fomos para a Passarela do Álcool, uma rua turística cheia de restaurantes e lojas.

De lá, nos fomos para uma FESTA! Pois e, Porto Seguro tem festas todos os dias e ontem nos fomos na Bombordo! Nem preciso dizer que todos ADORARAM!!! Todos dançaram e se divertiram demais!

Com certeza Porto Seguro vai ser eleita como uma das melhores cidades da viagem pela maioria dos intercambistas.

Hoje de manha nos saímos cedo com direção ao Rio de Janeiro, porém faremos uma parada técnica em Vitória hoje a noite só para dormir e continuaremos a viagem amanhã.

Todos estão super ansiosos para chegar ao Rio e eu escrevo novamente de lá.

Hello!!

We left Porto Seguro today, the last city of our trip located in the Northeast region of Brazil. Everybody loved their stay in this city and enjoyed every minute of it.
Yesterday morning we went to the beach that is nearby our hotel. After the beach the exchange students enjoyed the hotel pool.

In the afternoon we had a city tour around Porto Seguro. We started in Coroa Vermelha, where we visited the place where the first mass happened in Brazil, right after the Portuguese arrived here. The exchange students also had the chance to shop around the gift shops selling handcraft.

After that we went to the historical center of Porto Seguro, where we attended a capoeira show and saw some handicraft work made by the Pataxó indians. We also saw the Marco do Descobrimento, the original stone brought by the Portuguese to mark the discovery of a new land. And of course, we took plenty of pictures of the amazing view of the ocean.

At the end of the afternoon we went back to the hotel so everybody could get ready for the night. After dinner we went to Passarela do Alcool, a touristic street full of shops and restaurants.

From there we went to a PARTY! Porto Seguro has parties every day and yesterday we went to a place called Bombordo. No need to say that everybody just LOVED IT!!! They danced a lot and had a lot of fun!

Surely most of the exchante students will think of Porto Seguro as one of the best cities of the trip!
This morning we left early on our way to Rio de Janeiro but we will stop in Vitoria tonight just to sleep and we will continue our trip tomorrow.
They are all excited to arrive in Rio and I will write again from there.
